Pure Lettings Director Lee Bilbrough is swapping the office for the open road this June, as he takes on the Windermere Marathon on 14th June alongside an old school friend — and what better way to mark them both turning 50!
The pair will tackle 26.2 miles through one of the most breathtaking landscapes in the country, running in support of Sue Ryder Manorlands — a cause close to the hearts of many in our local community. Manorlands provides specialist palliative care to patients and their families across the Bradford and Airedale area, and relies on the generosity of fundraisers to continue its vital work.
Lee commented: “I’ve taken on endurance events before, but a road marathon is a new challenge for me. Turning 50 felt like the perfect excuse to do something a little mad, and doing it alongside an old friend and for such a worthy cause makes it all the more special. Sue Ryder Manorlands does incredible work and any support would mean the world.”
The road to Windermere hasn’t been entirely smooth, however. Lee’s preparation has been hampered by a persistent knee injury, though he remains characteristically upbeat — confident of making it to the start line on 14th June and, all being well, the finish line too!
The whole team at Pure Lettings will be cheering Lee and Johann on every step of the way. If you’d like to support their fundraising efforts and help them celebrate hitting the big 5-0 in style, please visit their Just Giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/page/marathonformanorlands — every donation, however small, makes a real difference.
Good luck Lee and Johann — we’re all rooting for you!
