As we continue along the Government pathway out of the COVID 19 Pandemic the rules surrounding notice periods on Assured Shorthold Tenancies continue to change with the latest revision being that notices served between 1st June and 30th September 2021 need to be for a minimum of four months.
Between 29 August 2020 and 31 May 2021 the minimum section 21 notice period had previously been extended to six months.
Landlords then have ten months from the service of the notice to start possession proceedings.
In all cases however we urge caution when servign notices as not only are they time critical but need to be served in a prescribed layout using a specific form. A number of supporting documants are also needed to ensure hte noicr is valid
